Moms are great at multitasking, making the best out of any situation and at finding ways to save money!!! That’s right! That is what this week’s show is about SAVING MONEY! We feature two “mom saving experts” that will give you some great ideas and tips on saving at the grocery store and more!
Our first guest is Kim Danger, the founder of www.mommysavers.com , a great online resource to stretch your dollar. You have got to check her website out! She’s got just about every area we can save money with on her website and some really fantastic and practical advice! She took a simple idea and ran totally away with it!
We also feature local mom Cori Garavuso, who learned some amazing ways to save her family over $15,000 a year. She shares some of her bargain shopping tips with us.
You’ll also hear from Suzi Brown, our very own Orlando guide of www.babyzone.com, a national and local resource for moms. We’d like to thank Terri from Orlando for sharing her “Mom Madness Moment of the Week.” And…don’t forget to join us for our inaugural “Central Florida Moms Cruise for a Cause” coming soon. Space is limited and reservations are due by June 10th by calling 407-322-0344. Thanks for listening.
This week’s show features Peggy Collins, a mom and the author of Help is NOT a Four-Letter Word: Why Doing It All is Doing You In, where she explains a behavior disorder many moms suffer from…Self-Sufficiency Syndrome. Peggy explains how to identify if you suffer from this disorder and how you can break the self-sufficiency cycle! This is where moms just don’t know how to ask for help. (I’m unfortunately one of them. I just feel bad for asking when I know everyone is so busy as well.) But, find out how asking for help is like allowing your friends and family to give you the gift of giving. Don’t deprive them of that gift!
You’ll also meet Marjorie Tingle, an Orlando mom who works a full time job during the week and runs an online magazine in her “spare” time. Clap Clap Baby (www.clapclapbaby.com ) is an online quarterly parenting magazine that celebrates children of color, with a diverse heritage. You’ll be inspired by her passion! She suggests that maybe I include my own children since they have such a diverse mixture in their own backgrounds… ( I like her already!!!)
Our own “travel mom” Terri will tell you about her new “Momadventures Blog” (http://momadventures.wordpress.com/ where she will regularly provide us with some great reviews of near and far-away getaways you can take with your family, husband or friends.
You’ll hear more about inaugural “Central Florida Moms Cruise for a Cause” where we will set sail for a mom-getaway on September 14th to raise awareness and money for breast cancer survivors and research. We also preview our first annual “Central Florida Moms Cruise for a Cause” which is an opportunity for you to join us for a wonderful weekend while raising money and awareness of breast cancer.
This week, Michelle and I introduce you to some really cool moms who are great examples of how you can do anything you dream of and how things “come to you” when you become a mom. First, let me ask the question “Who out there would love to be on Oprah?!” Of course, we all scream, “Meeeee!!!” right? Well, if you think of a really creative way to solve a problem, you have may have your chance. We have one mom who did just that. Grace Welch, the inventor and creator of the Patemm Pad (www.patemm.com ) was recently featured on Oprah and you’ll hear her share how she came up with her product, a round diaper changing pad and how she got the call from Oprah!
Our next guest you’ll hear from is Central Florida mom Nikki Blanton, owner of Hopscotch Boutique (www.hopscotchboutique.com ) near downtown Orlando, a wonderful unique children’s boutique. She has also just launched a new business that’s solves a solution for moms who love fresh flowers! When you walk into her boutique, you can’t just buy one item! They are all so cute and unique!
Our next local mom is the Restaurant Mom who will be a regular guest on the show to give us a first hand review of local “kid-friendly” or “not-so-kid-friendly” restaurants. We can’t reveal who she is, but she will reveal the restaurants around town that are the places to go!
