We all have our favorite books, don’t we? We also probably have a Bible in our homes as well. Well, I bring this up because I truly believe that this week’s guest has the “Mommy Bible” if there ever was one. I was looking through the shelves of Barnes & Noble one day because I needed a book to help me balance being a mom and a working mom. I felt like I wanted to do so many things and was not successfully balancing doing both. I needed a book to help. So, almost like it had it’s own light, I found The Balanced Mom by Bria Simpson. I read it and dubbed it my Mommy Bible.
So, we introduce you to Bria Simpson, Author and Mom Coach who helps moms all over the world balance motherhood and fulfilling work with the lifestyle they want. Her book is phenomenal because it is written in clearly and gives us simple advice to find more balance. She organized the book very well and it is such an easy ready. I suggest you bring it with you in your purse and read little bits here and there as you are going about your day. You’ll love her advice and suggestions regarding raising children without losing your self. I truly love her book and believe that it has helped me tremendously! I’m not balanced all the time, but Bria also says that neither is she! Whew!!!
How many organizers have you bought in the past and just haven’t found the right one? Some are too thick, some don’t have enough space, some are just not “IT”. We found the answer for you! And it’s that time of year moms, time to get organized! Well, at least try to get organized. In the coming weeks, we are going to bring you some great ideas and guests to help you!

She pays attention to detail and the colors are so feminine and professional and fun! Multipurpose! Both Michelle and myself have the planner and organizer from her beautiful site! It really is a beautifully done website and has a blog on it too! She is coming out with new products all the time.
I’m sure all of us have found stuff such as products, gadgets, businesses, clothing, anything that we thought was really cool. I’m sure so and so would love this, you’d tell yourself. Then, life would happen and you’d forget or remember much later and you can’t quite remember what exactly it was in the first place. Well, two moms decided to start their own online business doing just that. Sharing with other moms cool mom picks!
We feature Kristen Chase, co-founder of www.coolmompicks.com which is a FABULOUS resource for cool stuff for you and the kids. She and Liz Gumbinner created this really cool site that is so easy to use . They have everything you can think of that you think is cool all on their website. Kristen tells us some of her favorites and also about the process they have in including these products on their site. They don’t just pick anyone’s products. They research it and have criteria for it to be truly a “cool mom pick.” You’ll love the unique, affordable products they find to make our lives easier.
Also, you’ll hear from Linda Parrett of Lotsa Love, a local animal rescue. Michelle finds out after only 5 minutes into this interview a really touching revelation about Linda and it almost brings her to tears in the studio. You have to listen to find out what that was! And you can also learn how you can provide a rescued pet a nice home or just help out the organization with things they need. If you want to donate or just help out, please give Linda a call or visit their website!
I’ve always admired the amazing men and women who have chosen the path of becoming foster parents. I just don’t know if I could ever do what they do! Bring a child into your home and love them like your own and then, they leave. I think my heart would break just a little bit every time. Well, this week’s show features local mom Karen Hughes, who is an amazing foster mom! She and I actually work together at the HealthCenter at the University of Central Florida. I knew Karen had a huge heart, but when she told me that she and her husband were foster parents, that confirmed it! She has a halo above her head.
She shares with us how she became a foster parent and what to expect if you are interested in becoming a foster parent. She answers any questions you may have and tells us exactly what she did. Amazingly, she has taken care of over 30 children over the past couple of years and one of the children has become her adopted daughter! She also told us before she decided to become a foster parent, she discussed it with her grown children. A great tip! Being a foster parent also means becoming a foster family! We know you’ll be inspired by her and certainly impressed with her love and devotion to children.
We also tell you about the exciting relaunch of www.centralfloridamoms.com and what we have planned for you during August and September! We’ve got a little bit of everything this week. Something to pull at your heart strings and something to be excited about! Enjoy!
