We begin this week by tackling the problem moms have when trying to organize their home offices. I think every household just about has a home office of some sort. But, where do we start? We often procrastinate until we can’t stand it anymore, right? And, why is it we have incessant piles that only keep growing? (I myself am a pile woman. I know exactly where everything is according to pile. So, when I organize it, I often forget where the “new location” is. Darn!) So, enter Denise Landers from Key Organization Systems whose book is easy to read and follow! She lives in beautiful Houston, Texas and helps us moms you get organized both with personal tips as well as office organization tips! She’s a nationally known organization expert and you will love her tips and advice on organizing your home office and other important areas of your life! Check her out and her great website. She can offer you some really great tips and ideas for organization! Thanks for listening!
Whenever you travel away without the children or are just simply thinking what would happen to your children should something happen to you, have you made the necessary trip to your lawyer? Or are you afraid and keep postponing it month after month? Well, this week we welcome local mom Julie Kronhaus from Aegis Law Firm to help us protect our children and family by creating a will and other very important documents. She very realistically presents to us how easy it is to file the correct legal paperwork so you can rest assured that your children will be well cared for should something catastrophic happen to either you or your spouse. She also tells us some rather surprising facts that we did not know could happen to you and your family if you do not. It was rather shocking to realize how something you love can easily be put in jeopardy. You won’t want to miss her advice!
Also, you will hear from some of our moms who went on the inaugural “Cruise for a Cause”. They share with us how wonderfully relaxing it was to truly spend time without the worries of family or housekeeping. They also tell us how unexpected it was to make some really special friendships on the cruise. If you’ve never been on a cruise ever such as myself, you will be a cruise lover and only want to vacations on a cruise. I absolutely LOVED IT!!! You never have to leave the ship… everything is there-food,relaxation, spa, friends, pool, and fun! What more can you ask?! They will convince you to join us next year and invite all your girlfriends too! Thanks for listening!
We all love t-shirts, right? I especially love shirts that have a cool picture or a really clever quote on it. But, it’s hard to find them. So, this week we welcome LeShan Bradshaw Georgie Tees, who shares with us the latest must-haves in infant & maternity apparel. You will love their fun line of clothing. She and co-founder, Emily have created this wonderful line of clothing just by talking with each other about what would be funny on a shirt! (We’ve done stuff like that, right? ) LeShan shares with us a little of their challenges in starting this business, but also how satisfying it is when you have a partner as wonderful as Emily! She mentions to us a new maternity shirt that has a famous woman that we all know by a famous Italian artist. Hmmm…you have to listen to find out what this new shirt is!
Also, you’ll hear from Laura with the Central Florida Birth Network on this weekend’s Birth, Babies & Beyond event. This is a wonderful organization that connects childbirth educators, nurses, lactation consultants, physicians, therapaists, and all the other disciplines that love natural birth and the beauty of pregnancy. I plan to be at this event and hope that you will come join us and meet all of the members of this network. Thanks for listening!
How many bags do you have in your closet? Let me ask you this, how many bags do you really use on a regular basis? Do you continue to by various bags because you are in search of “the bag”? If you are, your search is now over!!! In our continued efforts to help you get organized, this week we talk with Jen Groover, mom inventor of the Butler Bag, one of the greatest tools you can have to getting organized. She tells Michelle and myself how one night she used the utensil container of the dishwasher and put it in her diaper bag because she was so exasperated at having everything all over the place. Then, within seconds, the Butler Bag prototype was born!!!
Jen Groover really is the supermom personified! She not only is mom to twin girls and creator of the Butler Bag, but has several other entrepreneurial hats on. You have to listen to find out how she juggles being a mom, successful entrepreneur and supportive wife! It’s amazing all that she is able to accomplish in 24 hours. When I asked her how she does it, she answered, “Delegate…” Easier said than done, right?
Our second guest is another creative mom who has a great music and interactive program for your kids. Holly Lesnick, local mom and owner of Grow and Sing Studios . She shares with us the great classes she offers kids and families! Also, she discusses with us the importance of learning through and with music. What a clever idea, isn’t it? Children retain things better when they sing what they are learning! Wow! A great suggestion for us moms to try to incorporate with our families. I’ve tried it and it does truly work.
