We’ve got two women sharing their stories with us this week that will warm our hearts and also warm up our shoulders too! We are so excited to share with you, Vanessa Echols who celebrates with us her fantastic organization, Compassionate Hands and Hearts Breast Cancer Outreach Program. We also have a creative mom, Jill Boehler who invented the Chilly Jilly who tells us how she thought of this simple and practical solution for those chilly evenings!

Vanessa Echols, WFTV Eyewitness News Anchor tells how she created her wonderful organization after she herself had experienced Stage II Breast Cancer back in Oct. 2004. This experience left her with the need to help others who were going through such a traumatic time of their lives. Three years later, Oct. 2007, Compassionate Hands and Hearts was born to help provide women the “hands on help” they needed during recovery during chemotherapy. What impressed me the most about Vanessa was her energy and genuine passion for helping others! I could literally feel her smile through the phone! (Michelle has known her for several years and said that she is just one of the best people she knows!)

She continues to discuss with us how our moms can easily help out by logging online and telling them what they would like to do! We can even bring our children with us to help the women who are not so ill, but maybe need a cheery smile and a helping hand. When we asked what we could do, Vanessa simply replied, “We just need more volunteers!” So, moms! This is an easy way to start making a difference!

We then switch gears with our next guest, Jill Boehler who talks with me about how one cold evening at dinner she thought of her elegant solution, the Chilly Jilly! I do have to say that I love it!!! She sent me one for my birthday and it works! Jill paid attention to detail and the little sachet it comes in is so feminine. The whole thing fits into my purse and the material is light and doesn’t wrinkle! Genius! (And guess what?! She and Michele Welsh, Safety Tat creator are friends and literally live right next door!!!) She also tells us about her impressive public appearances and also a little bit about what this journey has taught her.

Jill is coming out with a new children’s line and also a new Spring line for the Chilly Jilly! I was so pleased to hear that because my daughter wanted my Chilly Jilly! No way, sorry… I said it was too big for her… So, log onto her website and order a Chilly Jilly. It comes in different colors and is so reasonably priced. Ask for one for your birthday! I did!!!

Also in our show this week, we have some information about our next Cruise for A Cause! It is going to be on Sept. 18-21, 2008 departing from Port Canaveral on Thursday @ 4 pm and returning Sunday morning @ 7 am. We’re going to the Bahamas again, but this time on Carnival Cruise lines’ ship the Sensation! I can’t wait!! Please, mark your calendars! IF you already know you want to go, email me at sboyette@parentseverywhere.com and I’ll give you more information!

One last thing, don’t forget about going to the Fun Expo on Feb. 23rd at the Champions Sports Complex in South Orlando! Log onto www.funexpos.com. Thanks so much for listening!
